New Delhi: Young talented left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who made his India debut earlier this year in July, has been extremely impressive in the T20 World Cup. Just four months after making his international debut, Arshdeep has not only established himself as a regular in white-ball cricket but is also leading India’s pace-bowling attack alongside Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The left-arm pacer bowled a super spell to bag three wickets in India-Pakistan fixture. After starring with the ball in high-octane Ind-Pak match, Arshdeep went on to pick two wickets each in India’s next three matches against the Netherlands, South Africa and Bangladesh.

Notably, the 23-year-old has taken nine wickets in four matches in the ongoing T20 World Cup with three for 32 against Pakistan being his best bowling figures.

Former India fast bowler Irfan Pathan asked Arshdeep what he has done the most work on, to which the young bowler replied by saying, “The most work I have done by watching your (Irfan) videos on YouTube.”

“Sabse jyada kaam meine youtube pe aapke video dekhne pe kiya. aage bhi ye koshish karunga ki video dekhte rahu,” said Arshdeep to Irfan on Star Sports’ show ‘Follow the Blues.’

“My focus was always on consistency. You cannot afford to give too many loose balls at the international level. I want to be good while bowling with the new ball and with the old ball. I want to pick wickets or control runs as per the need,” Arshdeep stated.

“Paras Mhambrey worked with me on my run-up. He said, if I come straight, I will get more consistency with my line. You cannot afford bad lines on Australia wickets so I am putting efforts to come straight and I am able to see the results but I hope to do better,” he concluded.
