Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining shares closed higher in Friday’s session.

KIOCL(up 4.91%), Pokarna(up 2.41%),

Dvpt Corporation(up 1.58%), Coal India(up 1.27%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.07%), MOIL(up 0.70%) and 20 Microns(up 0.43%) stood among the top gainers.

Lexus Granito(down 1.54%), Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 1.40%), Oriental Trimex(down 0.57%), Aro Granite Industries(down 0.23%) and Orissa Minerals Development Company(down 0.10%) were among the top losers of day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended up 28.65 points at 18512.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 20.96 points at 62293.64.

HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.45%), Tata Motors(up 2.31%), Reliance Industries(up 1.49%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.31%), Coal India(up 1.27%), Wipro(up 1.14%), Divis Laboratories (up 1.13%), Eicher Motors(up 1.09%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 1.07%) and Axis Bank(up 1.05%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Nestle India(down 1.04%), ICICI Bank(down 0.91%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.85%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.57%),

Enterprises(down 0.53%), Adani Enterprises(down 0.51%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.46%), HDFC Bank(down 0.46%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.45%) and SBI Life(down 0.44%) closed in the red.
