NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Ashok Leyland(up 0.61 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.17 per cent) and TVS Motor Company(up 0.07 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand,

Kubota(down 1.74 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.43 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(down 1.1 per cent), Bajaj Auto(down 0.95 per cent) and MRF(down 0.93 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Auto index closed 0.67 per cent down at 12478.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 171.35 points at 17185.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 684.64 points at 57919.97.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.

Shares of , Ltd., , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Jay Jalaram Technologies Ltd., Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd.,

, SKP Bearing Industries Ltd. and GSS Infotech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while Debock Sales & Mktg, , Tembo Global Indust, and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
