On the other hand, IDFCBANK(down 0.28 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.22 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.19 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.14 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 1.76 per cent up at 39305.6.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 171.35 points at 17185.7, while the BSE Sensex stood up 684.64 points at 57919.97.
