New Delhi: ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has seen a lot of changes in the recent past, majorly in the form of cast members. However, despite the juggle and new additions, according to Ormax Media’s weekly list of most-liked TV shows, ‘TMKOC’ stands unmoved. For a second month in a row, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been on the top spot for most-liked TV shows in Hindi entertainment. This happens despite the change in the major cast member, Shailesh Lodha being replaced by Sachin Shroff as Taarak Mehta in the show last week.
Recently, Ormax Media shared the list of most liked Hindi TV shows for the week ending September 16 and ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ ranked top on the list. Rupali Ganguly’s ‘Anupamaa’ ranked second on the list followed by Rohit Shetty’s adventure reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and ‘KumKum Bhagya’. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ ranked fifth on the list.
For the last two months, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been ranking first, ‘Anupamaa’ ranking second and ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ third in the Ormax list.
Meanwhile, Shailesh had quit earlier in the year but his exit was confirmed by makers only last month after he announced his participation in another show. Sachin Shroff has thereby replaced Shailesh as the new Taarak.
Dayaben, another popular character from TMKOC has been on a maternity leave and thus her absence has been noted on the show. For the last few months, Asit Modi has been conducting auditions for the role although no one has been finalised yet.
For those unaware, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is a Hindi TV show based on the weekly column Duniya Ne Undha Chasma by Taarak Mehta. It premiered on July 28, 2008, and airs on Sony SAB and is also digitally available on SonyLIV. TMKOC features Dilip Joshi, Bhavya Gandhi, and Amit Bhatt among others.
